Audience: All Staff & Students
Personal vs. KCS accounts
Electronic accounts are provided to everyone enrolled or employed at KCS.
Your KCS account will be disabled and/or deleted after graduation or the end of employment. No access will be granted to your KCS account after separation from KCS.
To avoid loss of personal files, we always recommend saving personal files to a personal device or cloud account, such as Google Drive or OneDrive. Sharing or assigning ownership to a personal account does not move files or prevent deletion. If you need guidance on exporting your personal content of your KCS Google account, click here.
Files that are an educational record or contain personal information about a student, shall not be saved to a personal account. These types of records are described in Board Policy J-552.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- If your KCS email address is associated with the login for personal shopping or other websites unrelated to your employment, update your login to a personal account. You will be unable to process password resets on these sites without access to your KCS e-mail.
- If you have personal contacts or calendar events in your KCS Account, including via your phone, then you should take steps to transfer them to a personal account.
- TNCompass: (Certified Employees) Ensure you have a personal email account connected to TNCompass. This will ensure you will always receive notifications from the State regarding your licensure.
