Overview
KCS IT maintains a large fleet of Apple iPads for students & staff. These devices provide services to meet instructional & business needs. Access is now tailored to the designated user.
By default, all iPads are configured with the lowest level of access. Feature access increases based on the user's role. If additional access is needed on a KCS iPad, the tiers & support options are outlined below.
Common Feature Access by Role
Student Profile (Default)
Limits:
- Apple ID login
- iCloud services (Files, Photos, Messages, etc.)

Approved apps can be found in Self-Service.
- If an approved app is not in Self-Service, it can be added by request in IIQ.
- New apps require a review and approval in LearnPlatform.

Staff Profile

App Access is available in both Self-Service and the Apple App Store
- Although the Apple App Store is unlocked for use, apps that are not approved for use within the KCS system (LeanPlatform) should not be installed on district-owned equipment.
How do I change my iPad's feature access?
Contact KCS-IT via an IIQ help ticket. Please incluce the Serial Number or Asset Tag of your iPad(s). Your request will be routed to the Systems Administration team. Where appropriate, your iPad will be reassigned to a new profile.
