Resetting Student Passwords

 

Overview

Passwords can be reset using Active Role Server (ARS) in a few simple steps.

Procedure

ARS only accessible at KCS locations

Use your employeeID (with leading zeros) and password

 

 

  1. Type the student’s first and last name into the search bar.

 

  1. Check the box beside your student’s name (Please confirm you have the correct student by checking the student ID # and the location). Then in the menu to the right, click on Reset Password.

  1. Type the same password* in BOTH boxes complying with the following:
    1. Be sure that the password meets the KCS requirements of 3 of the 4 following criteria:
      1. 1 Uppercase Letter
      2. 1 Lowercase Letter
      3. 1 Number
      4. 1 Special Character

Students should be choosing their own passwords

  1. Uncheck the box that says “User must change password”
  2. Click the Finish button
